The Legion Go 2 (branded "Legion Go Gen 2" on Lenovo's NZ site) is listed for sale directly on Lenovo NZ, with detachable Legion TrueStrike controllers and up to an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor.
Display: an 8.8-inch QHD+ Lenovo PureSight OLED panel with 144Hz refresh rate, VRR and HDR true black support.
Memory and storage: 32GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, with storage starting at 1TB on a Gen4 NVMe SSD via a user-accessible M.2 2280 slot for later upgrades.
Battery: an 80Wh cell, rated by Lenovo at roughly 4–5 hours under medium-load gaming or up to around 8 hours for lighter indie or cloud-gaming use.

What's reported (remaining unclear NZ details)
VideoCardz reports a separate SteamOS-powered version of the Legion Go 2 launching internationally around June 2026 at roughly US$1,199 — but Lenovo NZ's current listings are for the Windows version, and we haven't seen a confirmed local release date or NZ price for the SteamOS variant specifically.
Local retail stock levels and exact model-configuration availability (e.g. lower-RAM or lower-storage variants) can shift week to week — worth double-checking current stock before you commit to a specific configuration.
Twisti's opinion
At NZ$1,699 for 32GB/1TB, the Legion Go 2 is priced as a genuine premium handheld rather than an entry-level option — if you mainly want a Steam Deck-style experience and don't need the detachable controllers or the higher-spec OLED panel, it's worth cross-shopping against cheaper handhelds before committing. If you do want the top-tier screen and the flexibility of detachable TrueStrike controllers, this is currently one of the strongest Windows handhelds sold in NZ.
