To run Twisti, we collect:
- Account details — email address, and password (stored as a hash) or Google account ID if you sign in with Google.
- Search activity — products you search for, so we can personalise verdicts and recommendations.
- Saved items and price alerts — products you track, and your target prices.
- Location signal — used only to show relevant NZ retailers and pricing.
- Basic usage analytics — pages visited and general session data, to understand how Twisti is used.
How we use it
We use your data to run price searches, generate AI verdicts, send price drop alerts you've opted into, and improve the product. We don't sell your personal information to third parties.
Third parties we work with
Twisti relies on a small number of external services to function:
- Google, for sign-in via Google OAuth.
- Search and AI providers, to fetch live prices and generate verdicts. Your search queries are sent to these providers to produce results.
- Hosting and database providers, to run and store the service securely.
These providers only receive what's needed to perform their function and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences like light/dark theme. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
Under the NZ Privacy Act 2020, you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email hello@twisti.org and we'll action it promptly.
Data retention
We keep account and search data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion at any time.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let account holders know.
