Nothing Phone (3) NZ Price Guide
Nothing's third flagship phone keeps the transparent design language while pushing specs closer to mainstream flagship territory — here's the current NZ picture.
What's new in the Phone (3)
The Nothing Phone (3) keeps the brand's signature transparent back and Glyph lighting system, but pushes into genuine flagship territory on the chipset and camera side rather than sitting in the mid-range like earlier Phone models. It's a noticeably more serious contender against Samsung and Google's flagships than the original Phone (1) ever was.
Current NZ pricing
The Nothing Phone (3) starts at around $1,299 NZD for the 12GB/256GB configuration, with the 16GB/512GB model priced around $1,499 NZD. It's sold through Nothing's own NZ online store, with additional stock at JB Hi-Fi and Noel Leeming, and on outright sale (no telco contract) through 2degrees.
Key specs
- Display: 6.7-inch LTPO OLED, up to 120Hz refresh rate.
- Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship-tier processor.
- Cameras: Triple rear camera system including a periscope telephoto lens, a first for the Phone line.
- Battery: Around 5,150mAh with fast wired and wireless charging support.
- Glyph Matrix: An upgraded rear lighting display capable of showing simple icons and notifications, not just lighting patterns.
Nothing Phone (3) vs Phone (2)
Compared with the Phone (2) (still available discounted at around $899 NZD while stock lasts), the Phone (3) adds the periscope telephoto camera, a faster chipset, and the more capable Glyph Matrix display. If budget is the priority and you don't need the telephoto zoom, the Phone (2) remains a reasonable buy while retailers clear remaining stock.
Not the same as the rumoured Phone (4)
It's worth being clear: the Phone (3) is Nothing's current flagship, released and shipping in NZ now. Any online chatter about a "Phone (4)" refers to unannounced speculation about a future device and should not be confused with what's actually on sale — there is no confirmed Phone (4) release date or spec sheet as of writing, and anyone quoting Phone (4) pricing is not describing a real, purchasable product.
Software and update support
Nothing has committed to multiple years of OS updates and security patches for the Phone (3), running its NothingOS skin over Android. This is a step up from the shorter support windows Nothing offered on its earliest devices, and brings it closer to Samsung and Google's update commitments, though still typically a year or two shorter than either.
Who it suits
The Phone (3) suits buyers who want a distinctive design and are comfortable stepping outside the Samsung/Apple/Google trio, and who value the transparent aesthetic and Glyph features as much as raw spec sheet numbers. Camera purists chasing the absolute best low-light performance may still prefer a Pixel or Galaxy flagship at a similar price point.
Where to buy in NZ
Nothing's own NZ store typically has the most complete colour and storage option availability. JB Hi-Fi and Noel Leeming carry it outright (no contract required), and 2degrees offers it on payment plans for customers wanting to spread the cost.
