What PS5 Pro actually improves

• GPU power — a significantly beefier graphics chip that lets supported games run at higher resolutions or frame rates without the usual trade-offs.
• Ray tracing — roughly double the ray-tracing performance of a base PS5, most visible in reflections and lighting in supported titles.
• PSSR upscaling — Sony's AI upscaling tech, which lets games render at a lower internal resolution and upscale cleanly to 4K.
• Storage — ships with a larger internal SSD than the standard console, useful given how large modern game installs have become.

It does not include a disc drive by default — that's sold as a separate add-on if you want physical media support.

PS5 Pro is stocked at JB Hi-Fi, Noel Leeming, PB Tech and The Warehouse. As with most console hardware, straight price cuts on the console itself are rare — the real value swings come from bundle inclusions (extra controller, a game, PS Plus credit) rather than the base unit getting cheaper. Black Friday and Boxing Day are consistently the strongest windows for bundle value in NZ.
