PSVR3 Rumours: Everything We Know So Far

A follow-up to PSVR2 hasn't been confirmed, but persistent chatter about a Sony VR headset tied to the PS6 timeline keeps resurfacing โ€” here's what's actually being reported, and what's just wishful extrapolation.

Twisti guides ยท Updated July 2026
Why we're labelling this so carefully: Twisti's whole value is showing you real, current prices โ€” not guesses. None of the pricing below is confirmed. We're publishing it because people are genuinely searching for this information already, but we'd rather be upfront that it's industry speculation than let a rumour read like a fact.

What's confirmed

Confirmed

Sony has made no official announcement of a PSVR3, its name, specs, price or release date. Everything below is early-stage rumour and speculation, some of it extrapolated from PS6 console leaks rather than any dedicated VR headset leak.

What's reported (analyst / supply-chain sourced)

Reported

VRcasts reports early speculation ties a next-gen Sony VR headset to the PlayStation 6 launch window, potentially arriving in 2027 alongside the console rather than as a standalone release, though no official date has been confirmed.

Reported

VRX by VR Expert reports rumours point to wireless connectivity via a proprietary high-speed link to the console, a departure from PSVR2's wired setup, alongside dual displays rumoured to reach a combined 8K resolution.

Reported

Space4Games and Technologic Innovation report expectations of advanced eye-tracking and hand-tracking carried over and improved from PSVR2, plus a design that keeps PSVR2's general form factor but lighter and better balanced.

Reported

Some rumours circulating on Technologic Innovation and Space4Games suggest PSVR3 could add PC support for the first time, letting it work as a PC VR headset in addition to a PlayStation console โ€” though this remains one of the more speculative claims in circulation.

Twisti's opinion

Opinion

This is genuinely one of the earliest-stage rumour sets we cover โ€” a lot of what's being reported reads as logical assumption (of course a next headset would be wireless, of course it would have better displays) rather than anything sourced from leaked hardware documents. We'd treat the PC support rumour especially cautiously; Sony has shown little appetite for opening PlayStation hardware to PC in the past. Given PSVR2 launched roughly two years after the PS5, don't expect a PSVR3 much before the PS6 itself ships.

What we'll update

We'll revise this page as more credible PSVR3 leaks emerge, particularly once Sony's PS6 plans firm up.
